What makes your guides different from the others out there?
Great question! The Regional & O’Bway Theatre Guide/Summer Theatre Guide were created to give the actor resources to try and get auditions from theatres around the country. To that end, I thought it very important that the season be listed and to make it easier for the actor, labels are included in the back of each guidebook. All an actor has to do is stick the label on an envelope and you’re good to go (including a cover letter and p/r would also be helpful). Of course, now, there are all different kinds of ways the guidebooks are utilized and not just by actors, which is very exciting.
Why have 2 guidebooks? Why not just combine them?
I think it gets to be too much information in one book if all theatres are included. I find it confusing so I like them separated.
